Roman Electric Co., Inc. is offering a Youth Apprenticeship opportunity for high school students interested in exploring a career in the electrical trade. This position provides hands-on experience working alongside licensed electricians while learning the fundamentals of electrical installation, jobsite safety, and the electrical industry.

This role is part of the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship – Architecture & Construction pathway, combining real jobsite experience with related classroom instruction.

Youth Apprentices may gain experience in commercial construction environments or residential electrical service and installation, depending on company needs and learning opportunities.

What You’ll Learn

  • Electrical jobsite safety and OSHA standards
  • Basic electrical tools and equipment
  • Electrical materials and components
  • Blueprint reading and basic electrical layouts
  • How electricians install conduit, wiring, and electrical systems
  • Professional skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem solving

What You’ll Do

  • Assist electricians with material handling and jobsite preparation
  • Help organize tools and materials for projects
  • Observe and support electrical installation activities
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Track required Youth Apprenticeship learning competencies

Qualifications

  • Current high school student participating or able to participate in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
  • Students that are available 7am-11am (preferred)
  • Interest in electrical or construction trades
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
